Why Lupé Matters

Lupé was created to help children understand something many adults still struggle to explain — invisible illness. Some people look perfectly fine on the outside while fighting exhausting, painful, and life-altering battles on the inside. Inspired by the principles of Spoon Theory, Lupé introduces young readers to the idea that everyone has a different amount of energy each day — and that kindness, patience, and empathy can make a real difference. By giving families and classrooms language to talk about invisible challenges, Lupé creates space for compassion, understanding, and real-world impact that extends far beyond the pages of a book.
