Our Mission

I didn’t create Lupé because I wanted to write a book.

I created Lupé because I needed hope.

My journey with lupus began when I was young. What followed were years of invisible battles — hospital rooms, setbacks, open-heart surgery in my early twenties, and moments where the weight of it all felt unbearable. There were seasons where I felt defeated, embarrassed, isolated, and unsure of my purpose.

But survival changes you.

There came a moment in 2022 — during a quiet drive — when an idea hit me like a light switching on. A wolf. A spoon. A story about invisible challenges and empathy. That moment became Lupé.

Lupé represents strength in weakness.
Leadership in hardship.
Hope when you feel counted out.

I’ve spent my life in service — as a youth pastor, a public speaker, a nurse, a coach, and someone deeply rooted in faith and community outreach. I’ve stood in front of large congregations despite a speech impediment I once felt ashamed of. I’ve led teams. I’ve cared for patients. I’ve walked through my own darkest valleys and chose to fight forward.

Lupé is the extension of that fight.

This mission is about more than books.

It’s about helping children understand that some battles are invisible.
It’s about giving families language to talk about chronic illness.
It’s about creating safe spaces for empathy.
It’s about raising awareness and support for lupus research.
It’s about turning pain into purpose.

I am deeply grateful for the mentors, doctors, friends, and family who believed in me — including those who continue to inspire Lupé’s journey. Their encouragement reminds me that this story is bigger than one person.

My dream is bold.

To bring Lupé into schools, hospitals, and communities.
To partner with lupus organizations nationwide.
To organize awareness events and races.
To raise funds.
To inspire the underdog.
To prove that a diagnosis does not define destiny.

Lupus does not own me.
It will not write my ending.

Lupé is my way of saying:
